This is a Microsoft offer to all there have been in the beta program of the virtual server 2005 R2 and i have been testing this beta, so thanks a lot to Microsoft for this.

So it do pay to be in the beta program for some company's, some other company's can learn from this ;-)

Order a new Moxa nport 5230 serial port server
10 December 2005 23:30
I have order a new serial port server to my IHC project, It is a Moxa nport 5230 there is having 2 serial ports in one device.
It is basic the same as my 5110 but it has one RS232 port and one RS422/RS485 port, so i can now connect this to both the RS232 and RS485 port on the IHC controller.

Read more about here
http://www.moxa.com/product/NPort_5230.htm

It cost about 270$ for the Nport 5230 and power unit, a bit more then the 5110 but it also gives me to serial port.

My BLOG software
3 December 2005 11:43
I have been ask a number of times what software my blog is based on and where to download it, but it is a home cook system that is code in Notepad, PrimalCode, Visual Studio 2003 and Frontpage and it is running on a IIS web server with a MS SQL back-end for the blog, forum and other thing that need a database.
So it is a mix a ASP and ASPX web pages with some copy/paste from  other pages on the net, as there is no need to recode thing that others already have done.
I don't think i will share the blog as some download thing because it will simple take to many hours (or years) to make the code usable and shareable to others... maybe some day or when i make the next version of the site i will have the sharing in mind.

Nice small serial port sniffer and it is freeware.
1 December 2005 20:48

In my work to make some home build custom apps for my IHC controller i need a way to see the traffic in the serial signal between the IHC controller and the PC's COM port i found the BillSerialMonitor app there is a very nice small app there is freeware ;-)

It work as a monitor pipe between to COM ports, One real hardware port (COM1) that the IHC controller is connected to and a virtual COM port(COM4) that the IHC app use. The IHC app thinks that it is direct connect to the IHC controller on COM4 but it is not ;-)

Only bad thing is it not wrap the data out in the monitor window, as you can see the blue text is from the IHC app and the black text is from the IHC controller, but it is a small thing and if you use the capture to file function the output is alot better.

It can be download from this website http://www.symcod.com/billsm/

Thanks to symcod.com for making this app and share it as freeware.
